- Students will complete the computerized overview of the QuickBooks software (2011) (provided by instructor on flashdrive/disk and complete the quiz at the end of each of the lessons. Record information and email instructor when each lesson is completed.
- Students will complete Lessons 2,3,4,5 in Simply Accounting 2010 Level 2 Courseware 1629-1 and email screen shots of the trial balance at the end of each lesson.

Simply Accounting Assignments - Part Two
When the lessons (and selection of review questions) are completed (see Simply Accounting Assignments - Part One), the following will be completed:
A) Appendix B (Additional exercises for each lesson). Students will submit the trial balance, income statement and balance sheet when complete. See previous assignment details for information about submissions.
Simply Accounting Assignments - Part One
A Students will work through the Simply Accounting 2010 text and complete lessons one through six. Marks will be assigned based on deviation from key balances (general ledger balances, income statement totals, balance sheet totals). Students will submit a printout of the general ledger balances at the end of each lesson.
B) Questions 1,3,5,7,9 at the end of each lesson are also assigned.
These assignments can be submitted as email to my email address (dcrofton@sd62.bc.ca) or through my website's contact form www.dermottcrofton.com or printed out and handed in to the WestShore Centre (make sure to put your name and student number as well as your instructor's name (Dermott Crofton) on the first page of anything handed in.
These lessons are based on the Simply Accounting 2010 textbook (CCI’s courseware for Sage Simply Accounting 2010, Level One).
The topics include the following: Inventory, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Reporting and Period End Procedures.

PRESENTATION It is expected that students will: • demonstrate proficiency in preparing trial balances and financial statements from worksheets, both manually and electronically • prepare reports using worksheets, post-closing trial balances, income statements, and balance sheets • develop the basic accounting equation from a balance sheet
ANALYSIS It is expected that students will: • describe the financial status of enterprises based on analyses of financial statements • assess the current and projected financial strength of a business using financial statements
