Unit 1 - Matter & Atomic Theory
Hello Everyone! We are jumping right in to chem 11 - beginning with a whirlwind unit on matter and Atomic Theory. Attached are pdf files of your unit 1 notes package and the suggested practice questions you should work on from your Hebden chemistry workbook. We will be working through this package from Mon July 9 to Thurs July 12. Your first unit test on this material will be on THURSDAY July 12 (as voted upon today). You should expect small "self-check" daily quizzes in class to help you make sure you keep up to date. Rememeber that attendace (though not manadatory) is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Good luck!

Assignment 1 - Major Divisons of the Periodic Table of Elements
Part 1 - Color code the periodic table (printable pdf file attached, also available from Debbie or in a folder in the Storefront) to show all major divisions discussed in your notes package and in lecutre e.g. halogens, metalloids, etc. Use the interactive websites noted in your notes package for guidance if needed.
Part 2 - Identify and number all groups, and periods within the periodic table.
Part 3 - Create a table or a thought web that identifies the key physical and chemical characteristics of each group. This will be a valuable study guide for your unit test.
