Now that we have gotten our "toes wet" - lets jump in! You all did really well today and the pace seemed to work for everyone. We will be doing our best to stick to the unit plan timeline on your course outline.

AWM11 is a math course which relies on several fundamental math skills learned in previous math courses (Math 9 and AWM10).
If you are a bit "rusty" when it comes to working with basic algebraic equations or concepts associated with co-ordinate geometry, I HIGHLY encourage you do do some extra practice and view some of the amazing on-line video tutorials offered by the Khan Academy.

Some topics you might want to visit for our first unit - Slope & Rate of Change are:
1) Simplifying fractions to lowest terms
2) Pythagoras Theorem
3) The Cartesian Plane (quadrants, plotting points, drawing a straight line given 2 points)
4) Slope (slope of a line, calculating slope given 2 points, undefined slope)
5) Solving algebraic equations for a single variable
6) Rate of change
