Week 3 covers more areas in the chemistry unit. Chapter 5 looks at the chemistry behind acids and bases, as well as metal-oxides and non-metal-oxides. Chapter 6 looks into classifying different types of chemical equations and how to balance them.

 

Assignments due: Chapter 5 assignment (acids and bases), and Chapter 6 assignment (classifying chemical equations).


Week 2

Week 3 covers the remainding of the life sciences aspects of the course in bioaccumulation and invasive species. We also begin the chemistry aspects of the course looking at atomic structure and how to draw Bohr and Lewis diagrams of covalent and ionic compounds.

Assignments due: Chapter 3 assignment (bioaccumulation and primary and secondary successions), Chapter 4 assignment (atomic structure and naming ionic and covalent compounds).

Summer School Science 10

Welcome to Science 10 (Summer School)

This course covers content in the areas of life sciences, chemistry, radioactivity, motion, and Earth sciences. The course moves very quickly, so attendance is mandatory and you must be commited to working through assignments daily. There will be approxametly two tests a week. There is a final exam that is worth twenty percent of your overall mark.
